ORDER-STREAM™
Order-Stream™-
the ability to take orders, create invoices and/or credit notes on site
with a customer. The Order-Stream™ software
and the Palm Pilot work together with an Internal Bar Code Scanner to
reduce the time needed to process an order and allows sales reps to spend
more time selling than processing.
This system offers significant advantages in order speed, accuracy and eliminates the need for head office personnel to key in field orders. The download of information can be bi-directional and pass information such as inventory levels, pricing and emails from head office back to the sales representative. Components
of the Order-Stream™
Program e-Sales™
Palm Client This
is the Program that runs on the Sales Reps Palm. All of the Customer and
Product Data (Pricing, quantities, descriptions) is resident on the Palm.
The Rep uses this Program to take orders, print orders and summary reports
and then connect to Order-Stream™ to transmit the orders back to Head Office. e-Sales™
Order-Stream™ Desktop Client Allows
for interaction between the system administrator and field sales.
Controls hot sync functions for all Palm/scanners. Manages Customer
and Product updates for the Sales Reps and retrieves the Orders from the
Order Stream™ Server. Order-Stream™e-Sales
uses the Order-Stream™ Server connected to the internet to support all sales
reps concurrently. It offers
many advantages in simplifying the complexities of dealing with many Sales
Reps at trade-shows as well as
for a remote sales force on the road between shows.
Interface
to Corporate Accounting System This
software is the responsibility of the customer.
Currently SL Datakatch Order-Stream™ generates an ASCII (text) file in four different Specifications to be used by integration programs for the following accounting packages: ACCPAC If
you are currently using one of the above accounting packages, SL Datakatch will
include the specified file output format with Order-Stream™. The
Specific Software Interface extracts customer and inventory records from the
corporate accounting system and makes them available to the outbound hot
sync conduit. It also imports
the order/invoice/credit database from the inbound conduit into the
corporate accounting system. An Interface can be written for any accounting package available today. The only requirement is that the accounting package is able to accept a flat or ASCII file. If you would like advice on your particular accounting software, ask your Software account representative.
