ORDER-STREAM™ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I have to change my enterprise (backroom) software to install Order-Stream™?

No, Order-Stream™ will interface with any accounting package available today.  The only requirement is that the accounting package is able to import a flat or ASCII file.  If you would like advice on your particular accounting software, ask your Software account representative.

Can I use Order-Stream™ if my products are not bar coded?

Yes, one of the strengths of Order-Stream™ is the drill down feature that will allow finding item numbers on your Palm Pilot very quickly.  This means that you can use an inexpensive Palm 3 or higher for order entry.

What if many reps are downloading orders at the same time?

Order-Stream™ will accommodate a limitless number of downloads simultaneously.

How are the sales orders received by head office?

Head office uses the SyncClient to connect to the Order-Stream™ server and download the orders.

How does my remote sales staff enter orders for new customers?

New customer orders are taken in exactly the same manner as orders for existing customers.  The difference is that when these orders are downloaded, they are kept in a separate file until an administrator processes the customer, does credit check, enters the demographic information and the system assigns a proper customer number. Only then does that order get released into the system.

What about data security over the Internet?

The Order-Stream™ conduits ensures the data integrity. Also all user id's and passwords are encrypted.

How is my company data protected?

What are other advantages of using Order-Stream™ as opposed to faxing orders like we do now?

The three major benefits are that Order-Stream™ is faster, much less expensive and significantly more accurate.  There are other benefits as well including better information in the remote reps hands, such as inventory levels, customer account status and price changes.  This information is accurate from the last download, which is usually never more than one day.

Can my remote sales staff see customers credit or accounts receivable  information?

Yes, the rep has access to accurate customer information including ar and credit status.  The rep also will have accurate inventory levels, pricing and any other information that head office needs to communicate, such as memos, new products etc.

How does Order-Stream handle inventory quantity on hand?

Quantity on hand (QOH) is a field in Esales™ that gets updated as product is sold. At a trade show, this information is accurate up to each download. If Esales™ is being used in vendor managed inventory (VMI) mode where the rep is actually delivering product from a truck, QOH is adjusted to the truck inventory.

Can I use other PDA's such as Handspring or Ipac?

Any device using Palm OS is supported.

Can remote sales staff enter orders with a cell phone?

Yes, sales reps can hotsync their orders to the Order-Stream™ server by using a cell phone to connect to the internet.
